The Center offers free, ongoing groups, and workshops on a variety of issues. Support groups, workshops, and events are held Monday – Thursday, with some workshops and events on the weekend. Free childcare is available during support groups. While some groups and workshops are drop-in, some groups require pre-enrollment.

Covers child development, the effects of media on your child, effects of violence on your child’s development, how to manage anger, positive conflict resolution, and discipline for positive behaviors.

Battle beasts and giant rats in Adventure Kids, a group for kids where they will learn to play a table top role-playing game. Heroes will work together to problem solve and conquer challenges. For children ages 7-12.

Children learn the basics of creating a comic and telling a story through words and illustrations, including creating characters, settings, and plots in a positive atmosphere. All supplies will be provided. For children ages 8-11.

A children’s group that aims to cultivate and strengthen social and emotional competency in children through digital storytelling. During the 10 weeks, children will work together as a group to create a story and make a movie.

Kids’ Turn provides workshops throughout the year for helping families dealing with parental separation and divorce. These workshops are educational and designed to teach new skills to reduce conflict in families. There are two different workshops, one for parents of children under 5 years of age and one for parents and children ages 5-17.

Learn to become a leader through building this awesome set of skills: Communication, building trust, mentalization, building awareness, agency, problem solving, and working as a team. For children ages 10-13.

Safety, emotions, loss and future. Learn about how challenging past experiences impact your everyday life and develop an increased understanding about how to heal and move forward in your own journey.

Parents and children train together, learning how to use their superhero powers and feel safe. They will gain the skills to: identify and communicate feelings to a trusted adult, develop healthy coping and self-regulation skills, build self-esteem, and learn to work as a team.
